Diamanti a Tavola – Amandola 2014

The “diamanti” refer to the prestigious white truffles for which Amandola is renowned.  This year’s festival celebrating our “diamanti” begins November 1st and concludes November 9th.  You will be able to savour them in our local restaurants, hunt for them with a local tartufaio (truffle hunter) and his dog, shop for them in our specialty store “Amando…la Tipicità” or in the street stands, as well as prepare meals using truffles by attending a cooking class.  Best of all, you are here at harvest time and thus will be able to enjoy our other local delights:  chestnuts, vino novello (new wine) and le mele rosa, which are apples indigenous only to the foothills of the Sibillini Mountains.  The piazza and the streets of the historical centre will be lined with booths offering not only truffles, chestnuts, wine and apples, but also local cheeses, jams, handcrafts and more.  Events and entertainment will top off our festival.  To keep updated with all of the nine days’ events, please refer to www.prolocoamandola.org and for packages holidays, www.vacanzesibillini.it.  If planning on relaxing here for a few days, other concurrent area activities can be found on www.sibilliniweb.it.
